On Karthi's 47th birthday, the makers of his upcoming film revealed its title, "Meiyazhagan." This film will be directed by Prem Kumar, known for the blockbuster "96." The announcement was made by Karthi's older brother and Tamil star, Suriya.
"Meiyazhagan," produced by Suriya and Jyotika under their home banner 2D Entertainment, stars Karthi and Arvind Swamy. To reveal the film, Suriya shared two posters: one featuring Karthi and Arvind Swamy on a bicycle and another showing Karthi looking into a bull’s eye with a wide smile.
Suriya expressed his excitement, writing, "One from our Hearts..!" and praised Karthi for choosing good scripts, saying, "Happy bday! Always love it when you give back to make good cinema!!”
Karthi, sharing the same posters, explained the title in his caption on X: "#Meiyazhagan = Meiy+Azhagan. Beauty is always what’s in our hearts.”
This film marks Prem Kumar's comeback after six years, with Govind Vasantha composing the music.
Meanwhile, Suriya's fans are eagerly awaiting the release of his period drama "Kanguva," in which he plays six roles. The film will also introduce Disha Patani and Bobby Deol to Tamil cinema. Producer Dhananjayan compared "Kanguva" to "Magadheera," noting, “Most of us would have watched Magadheera. The storyline of Kanguva is based on what if there is a connection between the past and present life. You will know what that connection is after watching the film. Magadheera had more detailing, but Kanguva will be simple.”
